Spent yesterday with my good friends Jenny and John... antiquing at some of my favorite places and of course came home with a few treasures... the highlight being a vintage tin dustpan! I'd been looking for one. The kind that matches my kitchen canisters... and at the last place we stopped at, there it was! :-) Also, very happy with the tin tray... loving the blue! And to my surprise, I came across a little bark canoe which I just had to get. And... of course there's aways pottery to be found! Jenny got some good stuff too so I will look forward to having her as Guest Collector very soon!
I love your planters. I have a large collection of mostly green planters but have started collecting other colors now also. Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI am a planter collector too, it's one thing that rarely makes it to the Etsy shop. I love that little canoe!
ReplyDeleteThose tin dust pans are hard to come by. I found a turquoise one to match my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteLove those planters! I have had my eye out for them recently, and when I saw this cute vintage bird planter at Goodwill, I flipped it over to reveal the price of... $14.99!!! I put it back down. They must be reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteWow great finds! I would buy it all too! I have been looking for a dust pan too but have not found one, yours is in great shape.
ReplyDeleteI found a couple of pieces of pottery in my finds this weekend too... Half price at Goodwill. I know they're Made in the USA, but I get so confused with all the different markings on the bottom. I've gotta start studying up!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog, and I already know I will be checking it out daily - love it.
ReplyDeleteJust FYI - those oddly shaped "florist baskets" you have posted are actually containers to put on graves - my family still owns several that we keep filled on the relatives graves; they've been around since I was a child in the late 40's, early 50's.
Wow your planter posts are pretty great. I love those colors.
ReplyDeleteI meant I would like to buy this yellow wheat floral dustpan if you are willing.
ReplyDeleteHi there! Thanks for your interest in the yellow dustpan! I can't part with it right now! I had been searching for one for a long time... sorry :-)

Ok. But I get first crack at it if you do decide to sell!
ReplyDeleteDear Emily,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to your grandmother, my mother! Tears came to my eyes with the joy of knowing how my children still so warmly remember Gram. And the best part is, we have all saved so many of her lovely things, continuing to use them once more in our own homes. As a collector herself, she would be thrilled.
Love, Mom
