I'm always on the hunt for vintage artwork. Aside from vintage portraits (see older posts), I love finding floral still life paintings. There's just something about them and the way they look mixed in with my collections, especially with pottery!
I found these little wooden drawers at a yard sale this past summer. Looks like someone made them out of old wood. I love that they have numbers glued onto them and then were varnished. Perhaps they were used in a workshop or garage to store stuff. Anyway I thought they were cool... and all 3 were just 50 cents. Oh, and hanging above, one of a pair of chalkware swan plaques found at a thrift store for $1.00. Yay!
My sister Jen is great at arranging her collections. She uses vintage medicine cabinets to display collectibles. Shown here, her collection of little perfume bottles shaped like oil lamps, more from her clock collection and a clever display of old knobs placed in a dish. The other, very shabby chic cabinet holds some of her milk glass collection.
