I was just looking at my
list of blog followers and noticed some new names there! I love that! It’s so
cool to know that people are reading and looking at my blog! I came across a
new friend yesterday… Carole from Australia! I have noticed that a lot of
people that view my blog are from Australia and that we have similar interests
and collections. So, here is CAROLE and her beautiful vintage tea towel
collection!
I love how she photographed
these out doors
hanging on a clothesline. So pretty!
Carole is originally from England and migrated to Australia in the mid
60’s with her family. Her father’s family had an antique shop in
Denmark and her father, in London, dealt in second hand furniture and
bric-a-brac. He would send items back to Denmark to sell in the
shop. Her mother is Mauritian (French), and she loves to display pretty things so it was just
inevitable that Carole shares the same passion… it’s in her blood… she’s a
collector! When she originally
started collecting and decorating her home it was out of necessity really, because they couldn’t afford much, so the easiest way to decorate on a budget
was to buy things second hand. She had a $5.00 maximum budget on any one item… “oh
the things that slipped through my fingers that only cost $6.00…never mind!” She loves Art Deco, 1950’s and Retro. “I just love being surrounded by nice things, they make me smile and if I can get them for only a few dollars,
the bigger the smile.” thanks so much Carole!!
I'm another follower who loves your blog and is from Oz....it must be a trend!
ReplyDeleteWith so many people on the decluttering kick, I love that there are still people out there who collect! It's so much fun and artistically inspiring too. : )

I love this tea towel collection!
ReplyDeleteI collect vintage children's dishes, egg cups, salt shakers... and I like to see others collections, so I'll continue visiting you.
