WHY DO I COLLECT?

Why do I collect? That's easy... because it's so much fun! Ever since I can remember I have been going to flea markets, antique shops, yard sales, you name it. Wherever I could find some sort of interesting treasure or cool piece of junk! I love driving around in search of new places or revisiting my favorite spots. I come from a family of collectors and have lived amongst antiques and collectibles my whole life. I have a passion for decorating especially with things that I find in my travels or even things found in the trash... which by the way can be some of the best stuff! But for those who share the same passion, I don't have to tell you... you all know what fun it is and how addicting it can be! Here I will share my collections, interesting finds, decorating tips, photos, projects, friends collections and thoughts and whatever else I may find along the way.

SUNDAY ANTIQUING

I LOVE my new little wire stand! Got it a few Sunday's ago at Black Rose Antiques & Collectibles. This place is awesome! Love it! It's huge and loaded with great stuff! It's located within a mall so it's open mall hours... til 9PM! Located in South Mall, 3300 Lehigh Street in Allentown, PA. Even though I've been there many times already I still have yet to bring my camera! Next time! Oh, and the wire stand... $6.00! Yay!

OVAL RESTAURANT PLATES

More from my restaurant/hotel china collection. I love oval plates and also odd pieces like these celery dishes. I got the top oval plate from Antique Haven in Riegelsville, PA, which is one of my favorite places, and it says Joy Yoeng... probably from a cool old Chinese restaurant... and the middle plate from Browns Diner was purchased at a yard sale for 50 cents! I was very pleased with that purchase since I had seen the same plate at Atlantique City for $75!

SALT & PEPPER

Another collection... salt & pepper shakers! Over the years I have collected many... and then ended up selling off most of the collection to make room for other stuff. I kept a few favorites like these!

CHILDREN'S DISHES

These colorful children's dishes belonged to my mom! Fun 1940s blue depression glass set and colorful opaque glass plates, cups and saucers. Love them! Thanks mom! :-)

FLOWER POT HOLDERS

Fun wire flower pot holders and vintage wire shelves are a great way to display colorful pottery. I love finding these at yard sales... each of these was under $1.00! :-)

PINK!

Flamingos! This is my very first collection! I don't really look for them anymore but if I see one at a bargain price I'll probably buy it! I have since sold most of this collection but kept my favorites. At one time I would buy ANYTHING with flamingos on it but I have gotten picky and now only stick to the vintage pieces... just the statues. Love them!! Love pink!
